March 16, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - Fans may get a glimpse at a possible first round playoff match-up starting tonight when the Amarillo Bulls host the Corpus Christi IceRays to begin a weekend series at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center. Game time is set for 7 pm.
The Bulls have clinched home ice throughout the South Division playoffs and will either play the IceRays or the Odessa Jackalopes in the first round of post season. The IceRays currently lead the Jackalolpes by four points for the fourth and final playoff spot, but Odessa still has a game in hand.
The game is sponsored by Buzula Furniture and three lucky fans will win recliners after each of the Bulls' first three goals. All fans have to do is fill out a ballot once they enter the arena. It's also the semi-finals for the Gattis Pizza Contest.
On the ice, the Bulls have won four of the six previous meetings against the IceRays. Corpus Christi has collected an overtime win on home ice and another in a shootout in the Texas Panhandle. Forwards TJ Sarcona and Brooks Behling have combined for nine goals in the series for Amarillo, while goaltender Mike Taffe has all four victories. Four different IceRays players each have two goals.
The Bulls are coming off a big 5-2 win in Wichita Falls on Wednesday night that snapped a two game winning streak, while for the IceRays' it is their first action of the week.
Tickets are available at The Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Suite 101 in the Amarillo Building, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets.
