Bulls Finish off Sweep of Ice Wolves on Sunday Night

December 15, 2019 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release

Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Bulls completed the weekend sweep of the New Mexico Ice Wolves with a 2-0 victory on Sunday night.

The Bulls and the Ice Wolves skated to an uneventful opening five minutes, but that would change shortly after, as Adam Kolcon would take a cross-ice feed from Matt Allen to score his second of the season on the powerplay.

The second frame saw Amarillo extend its lead to 2-0, when Joshua Burke jabbed home his second of the season after a loose puck rested underneath a sprawled out New Mexico goaltender.

Max Gutjahr would stop 25 of 25 shots while earning his first career shutout, and his 11th victory on the season.

With the win, the Bulls are now 21-5-1-2 and hold 45 points and second place in the South Division. The team is now just two points back of the Lone Star Brahmas for the division lead.

The Bulls will take to the road on Friday, December 20 to take on the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 8:30PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
