
Bulls Alumni Notebook at Christmas Break

AMARILLO, TX -Several Amarillo Bulls Alumni have a lot to be thankful for at the holidays as they have gotten off to terrific starts for their respective NCAA Division I and Division III hockey programs.
In Atlantic Hockey, Holy Cross is second with a conference mark of 6-3-2 and overall at 9-4-2. Defenseman Karl Beckman has appeared in 14 games and posted four assists.
Joe Kozlak is off to a fast start for Army with three goals and five assists for eight points. Defenseman Kozlak was named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of The Month earlier in the season. Luke Jenkins has a goal and two assists for three points.
Greg Gibson and Brandon Lubin are also playing in Atlantic Hockey with Robert Morris and American International, respectively. Gibson has scored a goal for Robert Morris, while Lubin has set up four goals in 14 games for American International as a defenseman.
In Hockey East, John Gustafsson has one goal and one assist for two points for Merrimack College.
In Division III, Western New England University sits in first place in ECAC Northeast. Forward Ryan Taylor has an assist in eight games. Two former Bulls play in the ECAC West Conference. Mike Taffe has a 1-1 mark in three games for Utica College. He has a 1.68 goals against average. Dan McDougall is back for his second year at Neumann College and has three assists in 11 games.
Current Amarillo Bulls players are enjoying their Christmas break in the North American Hockey League. The Bulls will play three games in four nights after the break beginning on Friday, Dec. 28, and Saturday, Dec. 29 versus the Odessa Jackalopes at 7pm. Friday is Faith Night and there will also be $1 hotdogs. Monday, Dec. 31 is the second annual New Years' Eve game sponsored by Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union. That night the Bulls will host the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm. The Bulls will wear specialty jerseys with a live auction to follow after the game in support of Amarillo Youth Hockey. There will also be a New Years' Eve Party and extended public skate where fans are invited to ring in 2013 with the Amarillo Bulls.
