Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs kept pace in the division last night in their 4-1 win against the Battle Creek Bombers on the road and are looking to move into a tie for first place tonight.
The Bullfrogs remain one game behind the Kenosha Kingfish in the Northwoods League South Division, but Green Bay is now a game ahead of the Madison Mallards for second place.
With runners at the corners in the top of the third, Ty Blankmeyer got into a rundown between first and second, allowing Jack Strunc to score from third to give the Bullfrogs an early lead.
Strunc finished 2-for-4 with stolen base and two runs scored.
Battle Creek answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning with a RBI single for Christian Helsel.
The Bullfrogs regained the lead in the fifth with a two-out RBI single for Blankmeyer to score Strunc and increased the deficit with a pair of unearned runs in the sixth.
With two outs, Paul Jacobson reached on an error. Matthew De La Rosa singled to score a run, and Jacobson scored on a wild pitch with Desi Ammons at the plate.
Ryan Radue earned the win, allowing one run on four hits and struck out eight batters in five innings pitched.
Luke Lind made his season debut for the Bullfrogs and allowed one hit in 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. Connor Donovan finished the final 2 1/3 innings with no hits allowed and three strikeouts.
Green Bay will look for its sixth consecutive victory tonight at 5:05 against Battle Creek at C.O. Brown Stadium.
