Bulldogs Take 3-1 Series Lead

The Hamilton Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead in their AHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final best-of-seven series as they defeated the Manitoba Moose 6-2 in Game #4 at the Winnipeg Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs will look to win the series on Monday night (8:30 p.m., 820 CHAM-AM) when they face the Moose in Winnipeg.

The Bulldogs were led offensively in Game #4 by veteran Bill Lindsay who scored a hat-trick for Hamilton. Also scoring goals for the Bulldogs were Michael Ryder, Raffi Torres and Chad Hinz.

Ryder and Lindsay have each scored five goals respectively for the Bulldogs in the 2003 Calder Cup playoffs and are tied for the team goal scoring lead.

Scoring multi-points in Game #4 for Hamilton were Lindsay (3g), Ryder (1g,1a), Hinz (1g,1a) and Tony Salmelainen (2a).

The Bulldogs also played a great defensive game, as they surrendered just 21 shots on goal, which tied a 2003 playoff team best.

The Moose had goals from Jimmy Roy and Zenith Komarniski.

Bulldogs goaltender Eric Fichaud earned his second consecutive win for Hamilton making 19 saves. Tyler Moss stopped 20 of 26 shots for the Moose.

On special teams the Bulldogs were 0 for 7 on the power play, while the Moose were 1 for 7 with the man-advantage.

The Hamilton Bulldogs will look to wrap up their AHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final series on Monday night as they take on the Manitoba Moose in Game #5 at the Winnipeg Arena. BULLDOGS BYTES: Jani Rita became the Bulldogs all-time leading goal scorer in the playoffs when he scored his 11th career post-season goal in overtime against the Moose in Game #3 on Friday night. Rita surpasses former Bulldogs Joe Hulbig (10) and Jeff Daw (10).
