Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs earned their second win in two games when they defeated the Rochester Americans 2-1 in Sunday's afternoon matchup.

Rochester took the lead early in the game when Travis Turnbull's shot bounced past Hamilton goaltender Nathan Lawson after hitting the blocker-side post. The penalty-ridden period would end with Rochester leading 1-0 and Hamilton leading 13-5 in shots.

The 'Dogs tied the game at 12:42 in the second period when Alexander Avtsin held on to Mitch Wahl's slot pass and forced Amerks goaltender David Leggio to commit to the play. Avtsin then skilfully skated around the goalie to tuck the puck in to the now empty net. Mike Blunden would surprise Leggio again 1:16 minutes later with a shot from the high slot to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory.

Hamilton goaltender Nathan Lawson faced 16 shots in the game while Leggio faced 35. Also of note, Wahl's assist was his first point as a Bulldog.

The Bulldogs next take to the ice on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 when they face the Lake Erie Monsters at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
