Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
LOVELAND, CO -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs scored three third period goals to rally from behind and beat the Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser event Center on Wednesday night. It's the first time all season the Eagles have surrendered a third period lead.
Bossier-Shreveport went to work killing off an Eagles' power play opportunity and then answering on their own. Cam Abbott squeezed a shot under the glove of Colorado goaltender Paulo Colaiacovo at 8:44 in the first period.
The Eagles came back scoring three un-answered goals in the second period. Chris Hartsburg took hold of a rebound top shelf and beat Adam Hanna to tie the game. Brad Williamson scored on a wrist shot at 14:46 on the power play. Ed McGrane added an even strength goal at 16:23 to give Colorado a two goal edge.
The Mudbugs turned the tables in third period scoring three consecutive goals to secure the win. Chris Gustafson scored 1:10 into the period on a two man advantage. Cam Abbott's shorthanded goal tied the game at 3:14 off a terrific pass from his brother Chris. Finally, it was Chris Abbott's unassisted goal a 7:11 that gave the Mudbugs the edge. Bossier-Shreveport played terrific defense in their own end, helping Adam Hanna to his fifth win of the season.
