September 10, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will be involved in a pair of community events tomorrow, participating in the local JDRF Walk in Bossier City and the 2nd Annual Red River Dragon Boat Festival in downtown Shreveport.

Key Mudbugs figures such as Head Coach Scott Muscutt, General Manager Jason "Soupy" Campbell and owners Tommy & Leslie Scott will spend tomorrow morning at Party Central Family Fun Center in Bossier City for the JDRF Walk, which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is the worldwide leader for type 1 diabetes research and is devoted to finding a cure for diabetes and its complications.

Registration starts at 8:00 am with the walk beginning at 9:00 to help raise awareness about juvenile diabetes. It's free to register, so we encourage our fans to get involved through donations and participation in the JDRF Walk at Party Central!

Across town tomorrow morning, Mudbugs players, staff members and booster club members will be paddling in the 2nd Annual Red River Dragon Boat Festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Shreveport. The event features 21-person teams racing 40-foot-long dragon boats on the Red River to raise money for Caddo Parish Public Schools and other area non-profit organizations.

Newly signed defenseman Mitch Love will be among the members of the Mudbugs team, which is sponsored by Snell's Orthotics and Prosthetics. The festival starts at 8:30 am at Riverview Park in downtown Shreveport. Come down to cheer on the Mudbugs' Dragon Boat team tomorrow and buy a raffle ticket as well to help the Rotary Club of Shreveport raise money for Caddo Parish schools!
