
Buffalo Drops Rebel Again

The Rebel lost its second game in as many nights to the Buffalo Bandits in National Lacrosse League action last night at the Civic Centre, dropping an 11-9 decision in front of 4,512 fans.
Ottawa lost 12-9 on Friday night to the Bandits at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.
Jason Crosbie scored five goals and added an assist to pace the Bandits who clinched an NLL playoff spot. Crosbie also added an assist. John Tavares had five assists for Buffalo.
Mat Giles had three goals for Ottawa while rookie Brad Self scored twice and added a pair of assists. Jason Clark also had two goals for Ottawa with singles from Orleans native Kevin Dostie and Scott Self.
Giles scored a shorthanded goal during the ninth minute of the fourth quarter and Brad Self added another in the 12th minute to bring the Rebel to within one goal.
But Crosbie beat Ottawa goalie Matt Disher with 1:01 remaining in regulation to regain a two-goal lead for the Bandits.
Ottawa travels to Vancouver for a game against the Ravens on Saturday and to Calgary for a contest against the Roughnecks on Sunday.
The Rebel complete the 2003 season at home on Saturday, April 12 against the Columbus Landsharks. Game time at the Civic Centre (Lansdowne Park) is 7 p.m.
