Bucks Tripped Up In Allen 6-4

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 6-4 Thursday night at the Allen Event Center. The Bucks failed to tie Texas for third place in the Southern Conference as they fall to 25-18-9 (59 points).

Bruce Graham had two goals for the Americans including the game-winner with 6:24 left in the third period. Graham has 23 tallies on the season.

Jordie Benn added an empty net goal with 29 seconds left to make it 6-4 Allen.

Alexandre Vincent stopped 23 shots to lead Allen (36-12-4) while Kevin Desfosses set aside 31 of 36 to suffer the loss for Laredo.

The Bucks trailed 4-2 entering the third period but Jeff Bes scored twice to tie the game at 4-4 with 7:29 left in the game. It was Bes' third multi-goal game of the season.

Bes made it 4-3 Allen just 2:06 into the third period when he scored from the bottom of the slot.

The Bucks tied the game at 4-4 with 7:29 left in the third when Bes hammered in a slap shot from the top of the slot to score his 18th of the season.

Darryl Smith and Sylvain Deschatelets picked up three assists in the game for Laredo.

The Americans jumped out in front of the Bucks quickly with two goals in the first 4:05 of the contest.

Colton Yellow Horn scored from the bottom of the right circle on a power-play just 2:21 into the game to put Allen up 1-0.

Allen went up 2-0 a little less than two minutes later when Tobias Whelan poked in a rebound right in front of the Bucks net at the 4:05 mark.

Laredo cut Allen's lead to 2-1 with 8:25 left in the first when Neil Trimm hammered home a slap shot from the top of the slot to score his 11th of the season. Trimm has scored a goal in four of the Bucks last five games.

The Bucks were outshot 12-8 in the first period.

The Bucks tied the game at 2-2 when Trimm banged in a rebound in front of Allen's net 9:04 into the second. The tally was Trimm's second of the night and 12th of the campaign.

The Americans would strike for two straight goals to end the period to take a 4-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Just 10 seconds after Trimm tied the game Nathan O'Nabigon put Allen up 3-2 when he scored from the middle of the hash marks.

Bruce Graham increased the Americans lead to 4-2 with 5:13 left in the period when he hammered a slap shot in from just outside the top of the slot. The strike was Graham's team-leading 22nd of the year.

Laredo was outshot in the second period 11-9 as well as for the game 38-27.

Laredo sits now just four points ahead of Corpus Christi for fourth place in the Southern Conference.
