
Bucks Sign Defenseman Picard

(12/05/02) The Laredo Bucks have signed defenseman J.F. Picard and added him to the active roster. Picard, 6-0 and 205 pounds, is a 29-year old defenseman from Montreal, Quebec. He joins Matt Van Horlick as Bucks who will make their debut tomorrow night when Lubbock visits the Laredo Entertainment Center.
Jean-Francois Picard played last season with the President's Cup Champion Memphis RiverKings. In 16 playoff games, Picard posted two goals, three assists and 22 penalty minutes. In regular-season play, Picard notched five goals, six assists and 18 penalty minutes in 26 games. He also played with Port Huron and Flint of the United Hockey League and Phoenix of the West Coast Hockey League. He had spent the previous two seasons in the WCHL with Long Beach and Colorado.
