When you play six years in Major Junior hockey you have talent. Igor has a great attitude. He is a kid that wants to get better and play in a higher league."
Agarunov, 6'1 190-pounds, began his Major Junior career with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League during the 1999-2000 season. Prior to the 2001-02 campaign he was traded to the Kootenay Ice, where he helped the team capture the Memorial Cup that season.

During the Ice championship run he had four goals in 22 games, including a goal in the championship game.
While in Kootenay, Agarunov teamed with current Bucks teammate Steven Makway on the Ice Memorial Cup title team.
