Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League released four players from their training camp roster Sunday. The Bucks now have 21 players in camp, and have to have their roster trimmed to 19 by Thursday, the day before the regular season opener in New Mexico.
The players released were forwards Shawn Doucet and Martin Groma, defenseman David Mullins, and goaltender Kyle Knechtel.
Doucet picked up a power-play assist (Thursday at Austin), and was at a minus-two in three pre-season games, while Groma tallied an assist (Friday vs. Austin), picked up four penalty minutes, and was at a minus-one.
Mullins played in all three pre-season games but failed to register a point while attempting four shots on goal. Knechtel had a rough time in net Thursday in Austin taking the loss. He allowed four goals on 14 shots in just over 29 minutes between the pipes.
The next decision that head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski will likely make, will be at the goaltender position. There are three goalies left in camp with only two allowed on the roster. Dustin Traylen, Ryan Senft, and Kevin Beech are battling for the two goaltender spots.
