Bucks prepare for Bluecats

Houma Bayou Bucks News Release


Houma, La—After a two week road swing that extended their winning streak to seven, the Bayou Bucks (7-1) will return to the friendly confines of the Houma-Terrebonne Civic this Saturday to take on the Evansville Bluecats (3-4).

Last week Houma picked up a hard fought victory in Lake Charles 31-27. Bucks quarterback, Doug Coleman completed 12 of 23 passed for 173 and 4 touchdowns. On the receiving end of three of Coleman's scores was Bucks receiver, Kevin Heard. On the defensive side on the football, former NFL Pro Bowler, Tyrone Hughes collected two intercepted passes.

The Evansville Bluecats travel to South Louisiana after winning two of their last three contests. The Bluecats are lead by quarterback Ramon Robinson who on the season has completed 65 of 124 passes for 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Earlier this season Robinson had a stellar performance against the Show Me Believers, completing 28 of 36 passes for 399 yards and 7 scores.

This will mark the second meeting between these two teams. The first meeting came last season when the Bucks defeated the Bluecats 55-6 at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

Tickets for the game this Saturday are still available and can be purchased at any Ticketmaster location.

The Bayou Bucks are also offering "Fun Four Packs." With the purchase of these packages, one will receive 4 tickets to the game, 4 drinks, and 4 hotdogs for $40.00. Fans should act fast because supplies are limited.

Bayou Bucks Notes:

With his 4 touchdown performance against Lake Charles, Doug Coleman's touchdown total for 2004 is at an outstanding 36 touchdowns and only 4 intercepted passes.

Former LSU Tiger running back, Byron Allen, signed with the Bucks last week. Allen is a veteran of indoor football, having played for Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles. Last weekend Allen rushed the football 7 times for 31 yards.

Cox Sports Television will broadcast the this week's Bayou Bucks game as well as all Bucks home games on a tape delayed basis. The game against Evansville will air on Sunday May 23 at 2:30 p.m.
