Bucks On Cover Of Laredo Borderplex Area-Wide

LAREDO, Texas â The 2004 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks are being honored on the cover of the Laredo Borderplex Area-Wide phone book. The new phone book was unveiled today at a press conference at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The Bucks are currently taking deposits for new season tickets. The cover displays the Bucks holding the President's Cup aloft and also an action shot of the team from the 2003-04 CHL season.
"I think it's a great honor that they are recognizing the team this way," said Laredo Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "I never imagined that they would react to a hockey team the way the city of Laredo has to the Bucks. It is a real tribute to the hard work of the players and the organization."
More than 130,000 copies of the Laredo Borderplex Area-Wide phone book with the Bucks on the cover will be distributed, covering four counties and 23 cities.
"Laredo is extremely proud of the CHL champion Laredo Bucks," said Jerry Turlington, Sales Manager for the Laredo Borderplex Area-Wide. "Their fast paced style of play has captured excitement for all hockey fans. Playing inside the LEC provides a terrific venue for hockey and other events."
Other sports team previously featured on Area-Wide phone books throughout the state of Texas include the Midland RockHounds baseball club of the Texas League and the CHL Odessa Jackalopes.
