Bucks 8-3 vs. 'Jacks
The Bucks look to build on Saturday night's 4-2 win in front of a sellout crowd of 7,987 fans. Jeff Bes scored the game-winning goal with 7:43 left in the third period to vault the Bucks to the series opening win. Laredo was led by Adam Rivet (1-2=3), Igor Agarunov (2-0=2), and James Hiebert (0-2=2). Agarunov came into Saturday night's game with three career playoff goals, and tallied two in game one alone.
Laredo came out on fire Saturday night backed by the large crowd, as they played a physical and intense game against Odessa, which is exactly what Bucks head coach/GM Terry Ruskowski says needs to continue. "We need to keep up that intensity. We played our style of hockey tonight (Saturday), and that's the way we have to play Monday", Ruskowski said during his postgame radio interview Saturday night.
The Bucks found a way to beat Jackalopes rookie goaltender Alexandre Vincent, scoring three goals off of rebounds in front of the net Saturday night. "He's a big goaltender. We need to keep crashing the net in front of him, and get some traffic down there", Ruskowski said.
Niether team has announced their starting goaltender for Monday's game two.
After Monday's game the series will shift to the Ector County Coleseum for games three and four on Wednesday (April 2nd) and Friday (April 4th), with game five if necessary on Saturday (April 5th) in Odessa.
