Bucks Ink Two, Including French National Team Member

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have signed defensemen Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel and forward Kevin Flather for the 2009-10 season. Dieude-Favel was a member of the 2008 France National Team.

Dieude-Fauvel, 6'1, 190 pounds, has spent his entire five-year career playing in France, where he has played in 118 professional games and put up 27 points (13-14=27).

"We've heard some positive things about Benjamin from our scouts," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He is capable of putting up strong numbers for us."

Last season the 23-year-old Dieude-Fauvel played in a total of 26 games for HC Morzine-Avoriaz, where he scored 13 points (3-4=7) and put up 40 PIM's.

Dieude-Fauvel (pronounced DEE-u-day- FAW-vel) spent parts of three seasons with HC Amiens, including part of 2004-05, and all of the 2006-07 and 2007-08 campaigns.

In 2007-08 Dieude-Fauvel scored five points (3-2=5) with 70 PIM's in 26 games. In 2006-07 he notched career highs in goals (6), assists (5), and points (11) in 26 games.

*FLATHER ADDS SCORING TOUCH*

Flather, a native of Surrey, British Columbia, is entering his second pro season, and his first in North America.

Last season the 6'2, 205 pound Flather (pronounced FLAY-ther) Captained the Liege Bulldogs in the Belguim Elite League, where he put up 76 points (31-45=76) in just 40 games, to go along with 112 PIM's.

"We really like what we have heard about Kevin," said Ruskowski. "He's aggressive and that's what we need here."

In 2007-08 Flather played just eight games for Concordia College (ACAC) after suffering a season-ending injury. Flather picked up 36 PIM's that season.

During the 2005-06 season Flather spent some time in juniors playing 10 games in the SJHL for the Humboldt Broncos. Flather picked up one assist and 29 PIM's in his time with the Broncos.

Flather took two years off from playing hockey from 2003-2005 to complete educational requirements.

Dieude-Fauvel and Flather are the 21st and 22nd Bucks signed this off-season.

The Bucks will open their eighth season in the Gateway City on October 24th at the LEC, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star Game January 13th. For ticket information call 718-BUCK (2825).
