Laredo Bucks News Release
The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Thursday that they have re-signed forward Neil Trimm for the 2010-11 season. Trimm is entering his third professional season and his second with the Bucks.
Last season Trimm, a native of Westmeath, Ontario, put up 30 points (14-16=30) in 43 games for the Bucks. Trimm picked up six points on the power-play (2-4=6), had two shorthanded assists and two game-winning goals last season while missing 21 games due to injuries. In the 2010 playoffs Trimm had four points (3-1=4) in the Bucks seven-game series loss to Allen.
"Neil was a big contributor for us last season and he picked his game up in the playoffs," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "He has great hands which makes him very effective in the offensive zone. We think he can be one of the keys to our team this season and that's why he's coming back."
Last season Trimm had a career-high four-game goal streak (12/26-12/31) and a three-game goal streak (2/14-2/19) in a span of 21 games. In 43 regular season contests last season Trimm had eight multi-point games and one multi-goal game (2/25 at Allen).
The 6'2'', 200 pound Trimm scored the game-winning goal late in third period of game one of the Conference Semifinals against the Americans to give the Bucks a 1-0 series lead.
In 2008-09 the 27-year-old Trimm finished 10th in the league in rookie scoring when he put up 44 points (17-27=44) in 60 games with New Mexico. Six of Trimm's 17 goals, and 11 of his 27 assists that season were on the power-play.
Prior to his rookie season with New Mexico the 6'2, 200-pound Trimm had a standout four-year career for Neumann College (D-III) in Aston, PA, where he is at the top of the Knights record books.
Trimm is the Knights all-time leading scorer with 175 points, all-time leader in assists with 114, as well as second all-time in goals with 61.
During his four years at Neumann Trimm was named an All-American, and a two-time ECAC West All-Star. Trimm had his number retired by Neumann following the 2007-08 campaign.
Trimm is the ninth Buck signed for the 2010-11 season including the fourth returnee (Pier Pelletier, Ryan Lehr, Serge Dube, Neil Trimm).
The Bucks will start their ninth CHL season on October 15th with their home opener October 23rd against Rio Grande Valley at Laredo Energy Arena. Season tickets are on sale now for the 2010-11 season. Call 718-BUCK (2825) to place our order now.
