Bucks Blasted by Oilers

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, were defeated by the Tulsa Oilers 7-2 .

The Laredo Bucks faced the Tulsa Oilers for the third time this season Sunday afternoon. The Oilers have defeated the Bucks twice this season.

The Oilers wasted no time getting on the board. Mike Ullrich scored only 34 seconds into the contest. At 12:03 in the period, Ullrich scored once again giving the Oilers a 2-0 lead. Only 1:14 later, the Oilers were able to extend their lead to 3-0. The Laredo Bucks would get on the board when Ryan Sparling scored a powerplay goal at 18:01. Rusty Masters and Adam Rivet had assists on the goal. The Bucks were outshot 13-7 in period

The Bucks spent more time in the Oilers zone to start the second period. However, Michel Beausoleil was able to find the net once again for the Oilers at 10:26. The Bucks were able to light the lamp at 11:40, when Matt Hanson trickled one past the Tulsa netminder. Neil Trimm assisted on the goal. Just over a minute later, Mike Ullrich was able to score his third goal of the game giving the Oilers a 5-2 lead. Ryan Rondeau made several key saves late in the period to keep the Oilers off the board again. The Bucks did outshoot the Oilers 15-12 in the frame.

The Oilers were able to notch two more goals during the third period, giving them a 7-2 lead. The Bucks had several good looks, but were unable to bury the puck. The Bucks once again outshot the Oilers 13-10 in the final period.
