
Bucks Beat Brahmas 4-1, Laredo Wins 4th Straight

FORT WORTH, Texas - The Laredo Bucks beat the Fort Worth Brahmas 4-1 on Friday night at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum. Four different players scored as the Bucks won their fourth straight game and ninth in their last 10. Laredo is 31-11-3 with a Southeast Division and Southern Conference best 65 points. The Bucks travel to Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday. Laredo is home again on Tuesday, February 14th, Valentine's Day, against the Corpus Christi Rayz. The Bucks dominated the opening minutes of the game and were able to capitalize. Defenseman Adam Rivet fired home his 12th goal of the season 5:10 in for a 1-0 lead. The Bucks continued to dominate play, but Brahmas' goalie Larry Sterling held them at bay. Later in the period the Brahmas tied the game on a power play. Forward Jimmy Sokol gunned a shot from the point that was redirected by forward Cory Stillman at 15:08.
Laredo survived several Brahmas power play chances early in the second period then went to work. At 11:41 the Bucks retook the lead. Forward Steve Simoes led a two-on-one rush down the right wing and finished it off with a wrist shot for his 11th goal of the season. Late in the period the Bucks struck again. Forward Brent Cullaton cut down the right side into the Brahmas zone and had his centering pass go off a Fort Worth defenseman into the net at 19:08. The goal was the 13th of the season for Cullaton and he has now scored a goal in six of the last eight games.
In the third period forward Ladislav Kouba finished off the scoring with a rocket slap shot top shelf high glove side at 13:14 for his 18th of the year. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, Fort Worth 1.
David Lemanowicz stopped 17 of 18 shots to post the win and improve to 13-3-1. Sterling allowed four goals on 36 shots and fell to 12-21-3. The Bucks were 0-2 on the power play while Fort Worth went 1-6. Laredo out shot the Brahmas 36-18. The Bucks have out shot 10 straight opponents.
