LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, announced Monday that they have signed Matt Boyd for the 2011-2012 season.

Matt Boyd is 25 years old from St. Albert, Alberta. Last season Boyd played for the Mississippi RiverKings (CHL).

The 6'0", 190 pound left wing appeared in 54 regular season games last season. He scored 7 goals and had 17 assists. Boyd also appeared in 5 playoff games with the RiverKings, where he had 1 goal and 1 assist.

Before playing in the CHL, Matt played for St. Norbert College (NCAA III). He appeared in 112 games. He had 41 goals and 83 assists for a total of 124 points. He averaged over a point a game during his college career.

"Matt is a great addition to the Bucks. He is a talented player that plays tough and has a great work ethic," stated Head Coach Serge Dube. "I remember playing against him last season and I look forward to having him wear a Bucks uniform next month."

The Laredo Bucks now have 20 players, with the addition of Matt Boyd, signed for the 2011-2012 season.
