FLORENCE, SC – The Pee Dee Pride announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-wing Craig Brunel on a contract for the 2004-2005 season.

Brunel was acquired by the Pride in a trade with the Peoria Rivermen for Malcolm MacMillan on November 17, 2003. In 44 games with the Pride, the 24-year-old posted a career-high four goals and added six assists to go along with a team-high 148 penalty minutes.

The Minnedosa, Manitoba native enters his fifth professional season. He has played 87 games in the American Hockey League with the Rochester Americans and Philadelphia Phantoms. The majority of his career has been spent in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays, Trenton Titans and Reading Royals in addition to his time with the Rivermen and Pride.

Brunel was selected twice in the NHL Entry Draft: 147th overall by the Nashville Predators in 1998, and 263rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 1999.

"Bruno brings a physical presence to our line-up," Pride Head Coach Perry Florio said. "He is a valued leader in our dressing room, earning respect for his hard work and no nonsense attitude. We are excited to have Craig back with us in 2004-2005."

The Pride open the 2004-2005 regular season on Friday, October 22, hosting the Roanoke Express at 7:30 p.m. The Pride continue their season-opening three-game home stand on Saturday, October 23 taking on the Greensboro Generals at 7:30 p.m., and on Tuesday, October 26 with a 7:00 p.m. match-up with the Gwinnett Gladiators.
