TEAM NEWS: There have been a BEVY of Bruins stories in the last two weeks including two commitments, and tons of roster moves. Here are the pertinent details.

Commitment - Josef Mysak, D, Niagara University - Josef Mysak, a third year Bruin and one of the team' all-time leaders in games played has committed to Niagara University (Division-I, Atlantic Hockey).

Commitment - Ben Almquist, F, University of Minnesota-Duluth - The Bruins leading scorer Ben Almquist not only committed to the two-time defending National Champion UMD Bulldogs, Almquist also chose to join the team for the second semester, departing the Bruins during the holiday break.

Transaction- Adam Szubert, D, traded to Kenai River Brown Bears in exchange for other considerations

Transaction- Chase Pilawski, D, returned from USHL

LAST GAMES REVIEW: Following the holiday break and a thirteen-day layoff, the Bruins managed to earn three of a possible four points while on the road in Cloquet against the Minnesota Wilderness. On Frida, December 27, the Bruins fell by way of the shootout, 3-2. The following night the offense EXPLODED for a season-high seven goals and manhandled the Wilderness 7-3.

UPCOMING GAME PREVIEW: With the success of the Bruins last weekend, they managed to pull into a tie for third place in the NAHL Central Division, but things won't be any easier this weekend with a pair of games against the Bismarck Bobcats on deck. Austin and Bismarck squared off twice already this season, both games going in favor of the Bobcats in Bismarck. The Bruins are looking to reverse course and keep climbing the standings as they come into this weekend's games riding a five-game point streak. In their last 10, Austin has a record of 6-2-0-2 earning points in eight of ten while the Bobcats haven't fared as well going 4-4-1-1.
