
Bruins finish weekend with a split

Austin Bruins News Release
The Austin Bruins wrapped up their home series against the Aberdeen Wings at Riverside Arena. The first period Austin started the scoring. Austin Nelson beat goaltender Marcus Zelzer, assists went to Ilya Arkalov and Jon Gehrt. The Bruins had a 1-0 lead after one period of play and outshot the Wings 10-9. The middle frame the Bruins added one more as Jeremy Finger was set up by Trevor Waldoch and Chase McDonald making t 2-0 Bruins. The Bruins were outshot 20-18 after two periods of play. The final frame the Wings scored their first goal of the weekend. The Wings added the tying goal with an empty net to notch it up at 2 and send it to overtime. Both teams had a couple of opportunities but not capitalize in the overtime period. The Bruins could not prevail in the shootout as the Bruins finished the weekend with a split. The Bruins spark off a road trip against the Aberdeen Wings on Thanksgiving Day, tune into Fast Hockey.com and AM 1480 KAUS.
