
Bruins Fall to Springfield on Day 2 of Showcase

BLAINE, MN - The Bruins dropped a 4-1 decision to the Springfield Jr. Blues on Thursday afternoon on the 2nd day of the NAHL Showcase. The Jr. Blues asserted themselves late in the 1st period, scoring three times after the 16:07 mark, twice from forward Brady Tomlak.
Starting goaltender Kris Carlson was lifted for Jacob Berger at the start of the 2nd period, and Springfield made it 4-0 on a powerplay goal from Joey Lupo late in the 2nd. The Bruins got a two-man advantage late in the period after Michael Houle was assessed a 10 minute misconduct and Justin Misiak deflected a Travis Kothenbeutel shot into the net.
Berger stopped 22 of 23 in relief while Springfield's Tommy Nappier made 27 of 28 saves. The Bruins fell to 1-3-0 and take on the Aston Rebels tomorrow at 4:30 PM.
