Brooklyn Aviators News Release
DANBURY, Connecticut - The Brooklyn Aviators erupted with five straight third period goals to skate past the Danbury Whalers, 8-1, on Friday night in Federal Hockey League action.
In his first game as a Brooklyn Aviator, former AHL and ECHL forward, Vladimir Nikiforov, scored two goals and registered three assists for five points to pace the Brooklyn offense.
Brooklyn (2-1-1) opened the scoring at the 10:08 mark of the first period, after Nikiforov netted his first of the season on the power play. Nikiforov, who signed with the Aviators earlier in the week, deposited the loose puck in front of Whalers' netminders Nick Niedert to give Brooklyn the 1-0 edge.
The Brooklyn Aviators next home game is Nov. 5 against the Cape Cod Bluefins at 7:05 P.M. Great tickets are still on sale by calling 718-758-7580, or logging onto www.brooklynaviators.com. Catch the action all season long with reigning FHL Broadcaster of the Year, Carmine Vetrano on the Aviators radio network.
