Brooklyn Aviators News Release
Brooklyn went 1-2-1 last week to improve record to 6-5-4 on season
The Week that Was : The Brooklyn Aviators went 1-2-1 this past week to see their record move to 6-5-4 on the season.
Last Tuesday, the Aviators traveled up I-95N to take on the Cape Cod Bluefins at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center. After the Aviators tied it 1-1 in the first on an Andrew Owsiak tally, the Bluefins took over the game. Cape Cod rattled off seven of the next eight goals and eventually won the contest 8-2. David Lun recorded a hat trick for Cape Cod, while Owsiak and KC Timmons netted goals for Brooklyn in the losing effort.
Wednesday morning would see some roster changes for Brooklyn, as the club brought in one of the top netminders from last year, Jo St. Pierre, and a top forward from the Vermont Wild, Jason Dolgy. The duo could not come at a better time for Brooklyn, who took on the first-place 1000 Islands Privateers that night. The Aviators would open up the scoring in the first period on a Chris Ferazzoli backhand in front, and not look back. Brooklyn would go on and defeat the Privateers 5-2, lead by two-point performances from Timmons and former forward, Vladimir Nikiforov. St. Pierre stopped 24 shots to earn his first victory for Brooklyn, which came against his former team.
The Brooklyn Aviators next home game is Dec. 2 against the Danbury Whalers at 7:35 P.M. Great tickets are still on sale by calling 718-758-7580, or logging onto www.brooklynaviators.com. Catch the action all season long with reigning FHL Broadcaster of the Year, Carmine Vetrano on the Aviators radio network.
