Laredo Broncos News Release
June 30, 2009-Laredo, TX- The Laredo Broncos of the United League announce that they have acquired catcher Luany Sanchez from the Shreveport Captains.
Sanchez was one of the Broncos' best players last year. He hit .319 in 77 games with 18 home runs and 71 rbi for Laredo last year. He was named to the United League All-Star team as well, and was named MVP of the All-Star game. Sanchez adds another big bat and experience to the Broncos' lineup. While Sanchez's primary position is catcher, last year he showed he can also play 3rd and 1st base, so he also adds versatility to the ballclub.
The Laredo Broncos begin their 4th season in 2009. The Broncos will play an 80 game season from June to September with 36 home games at Veterans Field. Season tickets and Sponsorship Packages are on sale in the Laredo Broncos office located at 2200 Santa Maria or can be contacted at 723-BASE (2273) or on the web at www.laredobroncos.com.
