
Brodie Trophy Player's of the Year Named

The Beloit Snappers and Brodie Trophy located in Janesville, WI are proud to announce the recipients of the 2009 Brodie Trophy MVP award. Infielder James Beresford and outfielder Angel Morales have been named co-winners of this year's award.
Beresford played in 114 games for the Snappers and is now playing in the Baseball World Cup for Team Australia. With the Snappers in 2009 Beresford lead the team in base hits (130) and was second on the team in stolen bases with 15 swipes. Beresford also hit .289 on the year while batting lead off for the Snappers most of the season.
Angel Morales lead the club in three major categories; home runs (13), stolen bases (19), and RBI's (62). Morales was also named Minnesota Twins player of the week for August 14th in which he hit four doubles, one home run and knocked in six RBI's.
The Brodie Trophy award is given to the player or players who had an outstanding season in a Beloit Snapper uniform. This year marks the fifth time the award has been given. The Snappers and Brodie Trophy applaud both players on a great 2009 season.
