June 29, 2012 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Bristol White Sox News Release

The Bristol Sox dropped their eighth straight game here Friday night, 10-6, due to a five-run second inning by the Princeton Rays.

The White Sox found themselves down 8-0 early and couldn't battle back. The Sox added four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, in what looked to be a slow comeback. However, rallies in the seventh and eighth innings were short lived, with each yielding only one run.

Jake Brown knocked in the first run of game for the White Sox when he grounded into a force-out. Corey Thompson doubled in Brown and later scored in the sixth inning. The Sox added two more runs that inning, but found themselves down six with three innings left to play.

The White Sox inched a little bit closer when Jose Barraza singled in Kale Kiser in the seventh. Eric Grabe doubled in another run in the bottom of the eighth, but the White Sox couldn't get any more runners across the plate.

Scott Olsen picked up the loss for the White Sox, who dropped to 2-9, tied for fourth place in the Western Division of the Appalachian League. Olsen, a former Washington National and Florida Marlin was in Bristol for a rehab assignment. Alex Keudell picked up the win for the Rays, who are now 8-3.

Granden Goetzman knocked in three runs with a homer and stole two bases for the Rays. Alex Willams led the way for the White Sox with two hits.

The White Sox will be back in action against the Rays on June 30.
