February 4, 2013 - Appalachian League (ApL)
Bristol White Sox News Release

Bristol Baseball, Incorporated has announced the hiring of Ed Devine as the clubhouse manager for the 2013 Bristol Sox season. The Bristol Sox are operated by Bristol Baseball, Incorporated.

Ed Devine, of Palmer Lake, Colorado, will serve as clubhouse manager when the 2013 season begins in mid-June. Outside of the Appalachian League season, Devine also serves as the assistant clubhouse manager and equipment operations manager for the Colorado Rockies throughout that organization's minor league spring training, extended spring training and during the fall instructional league.

"The Sox and Bristol Baseball, Inc. are pleased to announce Ed's hiring," said Mahlon Luttrell, President of Bristol Baseball, Incorporated and General Manager for the White Sox. "We are confident he is going to provide a great environment for our players and coaches."

Devine has extensive experience throughout professional baseball clubhouses, having worked for the Rockies organization since 2008, when he served as home clubhouse and equipment manager for their Double-A affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For 15 years, he served as sports equipment logistics manager for the United States Olympic Committee in more than multi-sports events, competitions and world championships, including seven Winter and Summer Olympic Games and three Pan American Games. Devine also previously worked eight years for U.S. Air Force Sports.

"Bringing Ed in, with his history of top-notch work for a big league organization, is part of our plan to help provide a taste of big league experience at a low price everyone can afford," continued Luttrell. "We've consistently had former big leaguers in town as managers, coaches and instructors, and last year 19 of our former players saw time on a big league field. We offer local fans the chance to see and meet both current and former big leaguers for less than $5 a night."

Devine is excited about arriving in Bristol.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the affiliate Bristol and the White Sox franchise," he said. "It is well established that the White Sox are a storied franchise with a first-class tradition and history of success. I have also done some research on Bristol. They are a professionally-run organization with a first-class working environment. I look forward to my time in Bristol."
