Both the Bristol Blues (33-21) and the Pittsfield Suns (23-30) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Bristol Blues that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-0 win at Wahconah Park.
Willy Yahn was hot from the plate for the Bristol Blues. Yahn went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and seventh innings.
George Lund's five strikeouts were enough to push the Bristol Blues past the Pittsfield Suns. The Bristol Blues' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.
Robert Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
