Blues Get the Best of Suns in 3-0 Loss

PITTSFIELD, MA - The Pittsfield Suns were defeated for a third time in two days by the Bristol Blues 3-0 Friday evening at Wahconah Park. Friday marked the last regular season home game of the Suns 2015 schedule.

The Blues were held to no runs until the third inning in which they scored two runs on two hits. Dylan Morris reached first base a one-out walk and advanced to third base on a single by Willy Yahn. Gerrad Rohan then smacked an RBI single to plate Bristol's first run of the game. Yahn would steal third before scoring on a sacrifice out by Ryann Costello, making it 2-0 Blues.

Bristol would add a run in the seventh inning on a hit and one error by the Suns. Griffin Garabedian led off the inning and reached base after an error by the Suns third baseman. He would proceed to steal second and advance to third after a single by Yahn. The unearned run came on a sacrifice fly by Rohan, which gave the Blues a 3-0 advantage.

The Suns had their chances throughout the contest, loading the bases in the third inning and leaving three runners in scoring position, but failed to score a single run in the game.

George Lund was credited with the win, throwing five innings and giving up five hits and two walks while striking out five. Suns pitcher Robert Anderson was charged with the loss.

The Suns will conclude the 2015 season on the road, traveling to Wachusett, on Saturday and Torrington, CT on Sunday to face the Titans in the final game of the regular season. The Suns are currently in ninth place among all FCBL teams, and must be at least eighth to be considered for postseason play.
