An eight-run explosion in the fourth inning hoisted the Bristol Blues (20-22) to a 15-3 win in seven innings over the Pittsfield Suns (16-24) at Wahconah Park on Friday.
The Bristol Blues scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Nick Conti, an RBI single by Conti, a two-run single by Austin Chauvin, an RBI double by Zach Scott, an RBI single by Brandon Grover, an RBI single by Chris Villa, and an RBI single by Villa.
Scott put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Bristol Blues.
Izzy Fuentes racked up 13 strikeouts in the the Bristol Blues win. Fuentes allowed two earned runs on seven hits and no walks over seven innings.
Nick Ladevaio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
Conti, Chauvin, Logan Greene and Scott helped lead the Bristol Blues. They combined for 10 hits and eight RBIs.
