Brigade top Soul, hold one-game lead in league standings

The Baltimore Brigade (5-1) defeated the Philadelphia Soul (3-3), 54-35, Friday night at Royal Farms Arena and now sit one game ahead of the Albany Empire (4-2) in the league standings. Brigade quarterback Randy Hippeard was named the game's Most Valuable Player for his 210-yard, three-touchdown performance. Hippeard has won the MVP award in all five of the Brigade's wins this season. Baltimore defensive back Virgil Gray recorded six solo tackles and four pass break-ups and was named Defensive Player of the Game.

Baltimore begins crucial two-week stretch against Albany

The Brigade are on the road this weekend, taking on the Albany Empire on Saturday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at Times Union Center in the first of two-straight matchups between the AFL's top teams. Baltimore will return to Albany on Saturday, June 9 for another matchup with the Empire. Baltimore's next home game is on Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena against the Washington Valor.
