Wichita Stealth News Release

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth announced today that fullback/linebacker Brian Goolsby (6-2, 255, Kansas State) has signed with the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League (AFL). Goolsby spent one season in arenafootball2 (af2) with the Stealth and has spent time in the AFL with the Oklahoma Wranglers (2000 and 2001) and the Orlando Predators (2002). Goolsby played college football at Kansas State University and was named honorable mention All-Big XII in 1998.

"Brian was a great talent to have here in Wichita," said Stealth head coach Sean Ponder. "We knew he was an AFL type player and this signing comes as no surprise to us."

Goolsby was second in rushing during the 2003 season for the Stealth. He carried the ball 47 times for 135 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. Defensively, he added 23 ½ tackles (17 unassisted), five sacks (team high), and two blocked kicks (team high). He was also named the Game MVP for his performance in week six versus the Hawaiian Islanders and the Ironman of the Game for his performances in week one versus the Arkansas Twisters and in week five versus the Tulsa Talons.

In 2001, Goolsby led the Oklahoma Wranglers (AFL) in rushing with 154 yards and seven touchdowns. The Wranglers were coached by current Rampage head coach Bob Cortese.

Goolsby becomes the fifth Stealth player to move up to the AFL so far this off-season. He joins Dustin Fish, Chris Enneking, Brian Livingston, and Will Sullivan as former Stealth players who signed AFL contracts in the past two months. He is a native of Dodge City, Kansas and was named an All-State performer in 1994.

STEALTH NOTES: Season tickets are available by calling the Stealth ticket sales representatives at 316.755.3307. Fans can secure the same great seats for all eight home games during the 2004 season for as little as $80. The Stealth will kickoff their fourth season in April 2004.
