Casper Ghosts News Release
The Helena Brewers snapped a four game losing streak to the Casper Rockies on Tuesday night, posting a 7-1 win over Casper. Casper took an early lead on Helena with an RBI from Kyle Blumenthal, scoring Corey Wimberly. That 1-0 lead would hold up for the Rockies until the 6th.
Helena scored an unearned run off starter Alan Johnson to tie the game. The error was one of three committed by the Rockies on the night. Helena would then score four runs in the 7th and one each in the 8th and 9th to supply the difference. Brewers' third baseman Mike Bell went 3-4 with a solo home run for Helena.
For the Casper offense Radames Nazario continued to hit the ball well, going 2-4. Also, lead-off hitter Corey Wimberly went 2-4 with the lone run scored by Casper.
Ogden's game at Great Falls was suspended, so the Rockies fall just ½ game back. However, Orem lost at Billings to remain four back of Casper in the wild card standings.
The two teams lock horns one more time in Casper on Wednesday night at 7:05. Left-hander Brandon Durden is the probable starter for the Rockies versus Ryan Marion of Helena.
