Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes are excited to announce the signing of Brent Arrington of Baltimore, Maryland. Arrington, a 6' 3" combo guard out of Morehead State University, averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists during the 2018-19 NBL Canada season for the Saint John Riptide.
His previous playing experiences included time spent playing for the G League's Greensboro Swarm and a year in Hungary where he averaged 12 points, 3.5 assists, and 4 rebounds a game. A scoring guard who can penetrate defenses and create multiple scoring opportunities, Arrington finished 5th overall in the league in assists last season.
"Brent had a very successful first season in our league last year after being selected by the Riptide in the NBL Canada draft. We tried to arrange a deal to move up in the draft to select him or arrange a trade but Saint John wanted him," says Head Coach Mike Leslie. "With a year's experience playing in our league I feel Brent can now extend his game beyond what he showed last year. He can score many different ways and can generate offense for other players as his total assist numbers indicate."
The Halifax Hurricanes will be entering their fifth season as a member of the NBL Canada. Season Memberships for the upcoming 2019-20 regular season are on sale now.
