Brent Added to National Junior Team Selection Camp Roster

Toronto, ON – The Toronto St. Michael's Majors are pleased to announce that captain Tim Brent has been named to the Canadian National Junior Team Final Selection Camp roster. Thirty-four players from the Canadian Hockey League and one from the NCAA will be attending the camp that takes place in Kitchener between December 11th and 18th. After that time period, the final roster will be in place that will represent the country at the 2004 World Junior Hockey Championships that take place in Finland at the end of the month.

Brent has been a force for the Majors throughout the 2003-04 season. His goal (15), assist (18) and point (33) totals are all tops on the team. He has also registered 6 power-play goals and is a respectable +3. He was named OHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 9th after collecting 4 goals and 2 assists in the team's 3 games that weekend.

Brent has represented the country before, as a member of the national under-18 and under-17 squads. He was selected by the Majors in the 1st Round of the 2000 OHL Draft and by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the 2nd Round of the 2002 NHL Draft.

The Majors' record now stands at 14-11-2-1 and their 31 points places them 1 behind the Mississauga IceDogs for 1st in the Central Division. The Majors travel to Ottawa to face off against the 67's on Friday, December 5th in a 7:30 pm start. Then, they are on the road to battle the Kingston Frontenacs at 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th. Both games can be heard live on www.stmichaelsmajors.com. They are back home on Sunday, December 7th when the Barrie Colts pay a visit to the St. Michael's College School Arena for a 2:00 pm contest.
