Boston Breakers News Release
NEEDHAM, MA (March 20, 2003) - The Boston Breakers today waived defender Danielle Borgman. Boston acquired Borgman in an off-season trade with San Jose in exchange for Keri Sanchez.
Borgman, 22, was a first round (eighth overall) draft selection by San Jose in 2002. She played in 14 games and started nine and logged 852 minutes for San Jose last year. Borgman played in the midfield for the Breakers in an exhibition game last week against New York.
A native of Cinncinati, Ohio, Borgman was a four-year starter at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She helped U.N.C. capture two titles and was a NSCAA/adidas Division 1 All-American first-team selection.
