Boston Breakers News Release
The Boston Breakers scored two victories this week, one on the field, the other off the field. Saturday marked Boston's third straight PUMA Project Pink game, and the Breakers beat the Philadelphia Fever, 2-0, sporting their pink jerseys. Those jerseys were auctioned off during the game, followed by an additional 24-hour online jersey auction Monday-Tuesday. The two auctions combined to raise more than $5,000, which will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
"We are delighted to have raised so much money for an amazing charity," Boston Breakers General Manager Lee Billiard said. "The game itself was a great event, another sellout, plenty of supporters turning the stands pink, and for us to send a check of over $5,000 to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer capped off a remarkable day. Thank you to everyone who bid on the jerseys, a lot of generous donations that will go towards a very worthy cause."
Breakers gearing up for 2013
The Boston Breakers still have at least two games to play in 2012, and hopefully a third if they reach the WPSL Elite championship game, but the Breakers family is already looking ahead to 2013.
Information will soon be available on how to purchase season memberships for the 2013 season. In the meantime, check out our latest video: Join the Breakers Family in 2013 and get ready to join the Breakers family!
