April 9, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Northeast Pennsylvania Breakers News Release

Scranton, PA. Bill "Flip" Fleming, CEO of the ABA Northeast Pennsylvania Breakers professional basketball team today announced that Al Clocker has been named Head Coach. Clocker was just named 2005 Coach of the Year for the EBA Men's and Women's Basketball League. A veteran cage mentor with more than 20 years experience at the professional and collegiate level, he has been named minor league Coach of the Year twelve times.

According to Fleming, "Coach Clocker is no stranger to the local hoop scene. He guided the Scranton Miners to two Atlantic Basketball Association titles and was presented the Earl "Chick" Craig Award as Coach of the Year both seasons. He also produced another league champion in the Eastern Basketball Alliance and was named EBA Coach of the Year. We expect the same high quality standards with the NEPA Breakers. He's good."

For the past eight season, Clocker has been Head Coach of the Harrisburg Horizon and in the EBA and has led them to six league championships and has played professionally as well as being a pro scout and player personnel advisor. Clocker stated, "There's no doubt that this is one of my biggest challenges. There are great teams in the ABA, great players and of course, outstanding coaches. I am confident that the quality of players from this area is outstanding and we will put a very competitive team on the court. We'll be having tryouts shortly - and I am looking for some great Penn, Penn State, Bucknell, Lafayette, LaSalle and other area players to compete though the tryouts will be open."

The team will be playing at the newly refurbished Lackawanna College Basketball Arena that seats 4500. Fleming concluded, "And our goal is to fill the seats because we will bring a great team competing with great teams to our fans here - and we'll do it at incredibly affordable prices. Now's the time to reserve seats. We start in November."
