Braves Sweep Legends

Rome, GA -The Rome Braves defeated the Lexington Legends Saturday night in front of 3,437 fans at State Mutual Stadium. The win puts them back at the .500 mark on the season.

Rome scored its first run of the game in the first inning when Luis Sumoza scored from third on a wild pitch by Arcenio Leon. In the second, the Braves added two insurance runs to make it a 3-0 game. The inning was highlighted by an RBI double by Braeden Schlehuber and an RBI single by Ryan Barba. Lexington scored one run in the seventh to cut the lead to 3-1 on an RBI single by Russell Dixon. The Legends added another run in the eighth to make it a 3-2 game on an RBI single by Phil Disher, but it wasn't enough as the Braves bullpen was able to hold on for the win.

David Francis (2-1) was the winning pitcher for the Braves, while Arcenio Leon (3-1) got the loss for the Legends. Jaye Chapman picked up his second save of the season.
