
Braves end road trip with one-hit loss

Pawtucket, RI- The Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Richmond Braves 3-0 Tuesday at McCoy Stadium. Three Pawtucket pitchers combined to hold the Braves to just one hit as the Red Sox won for the seventh time in eight games.
Pawtucket got all the offense necessary from a solo home run in the fourth by Roberto Petagine. George Lombard homered in the sixth and Alejandro Machado doubled a run home in the seventh. Esix Snead had the Braves only hit, a fourth inning single. He was later thrown out stealing and Red Sox pitchers faced the minimum 27 Braves hitters.
Abe Alvarez pitched seven innings for the Sox to earn the win. He struck out nine. Scott Cassidy tossed an inning and former VCU star Cla Meredith worked the ninth and earned a save. Zach Miner took the loss. Petagine had three hits for Pawtucket.
