
Bravehearts Extend Win Streak

Norwich, CT - The Worcester Bravehearts extended their win streak with an 8-5 win over the Norwich Sea Unicorns Friday night. With the win, Worcester moves to 10-9, while Norwich falls to 12-9.
Worcester struck first in the third inning after an RBI double by Dakota Harris (Polk State) scored Kenny Mallory Jr. (Vanderbilt). Tayven Kelley (Penn State) drove in a run of his own shortly thereafter to bring the Worcester lead to 2-0. Harris, Gavin Noriega (Marist), and Shrewsbury native Christian Siciliano (Southern Maine) extended the lead to 6-0 in the fifth with RBI singles. Back-to-back RBI singles in the sixth by Kelley and Sebastian Salado (Palm Beach Atlantic) brought the Worcester lead to 8-2.
Norwich narrowed the lead to 6-2 with a two-out, two-run single off of Barre native Croix Jenkins (NJIT). Jenkins bounced back with a strikeout to end the inning, and finished with 1.1 innings, giving up one hit, and four walks, while striking out four. Norwich would score again in the seventh and ninth.
North Grafton native Jack Choate (Assumption) started the game for the 'Hearts, delivering 4.2 innings of work, allowing two runs, one hit, and six walks, while striking out one.
The Bravehearts return home to face the Brockton Rox tomorrow, Saturday June 19th at 6:30 p.m.
