
Bravehearts Bats Prevail over Nashua

Nashua, NH - The Worcester Bravehearts' bats showed up in a big way Wednesdsy night, battering the Nashua Silver Knights 11-2 at Holman Stadium.
The 'Hearts got the scoring started in the top of the second when Alex Neff (Dayton) led the inning off with a double. Neff advanced to third on a Nic Britt (William & Mary) groundout and scored on a Kenny Mallory Jr. (Vanderbilt) RBI double. Mallory Jr. later scored when Michael Chaves Jr. (Worcester State) singled him home.
Worcester continued the scoring the next inning. After the Bravehearts loaded the bases, Mallory Jr. drew a walk to score Rico Riley (Jackson State). A Britt fielder's choice scored Chaves Jr, and Andrew Selima (Holy Cross) drove in a run to make the score 5-0.
Two runs apiece came across for the Bravehearts in the fifth, sixth and the ninth, giving Worcester a total of 11 for the night.
Nashua scored a run in the bottom of the fifth when Noah Lucier (Stonehill) drove in Lucas Carmichael (William & Mary). Another run scored on a home run in the bottom of the eighth by Sam McNulty (Boston College).
Bravehearts starter Jack Choate (Assumption) picked up the win, tossing six innings of one-run ball, giving up two hits and four walks while striking out 11. The loss went to Timmy Kalantzakos (Merrimack), who gave up five earned runs on six hits, walking three and striking out one.
Worcester continues its road trip tomorrow against the Vermont Lake Monsters in Burlington. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
