Brandon Clarke Returns as Defensive Back with Erie Explosion

(Erie, PA)- Defensive back Brandon Clarke has returned to the Erie Explosion for the 2014 season. Clarke (5'9/190) re-joins the Explosion after spending time with the Cedar Rapids Titans of the Indoor Football League. Clarke was a key component of an Explosion defensive unit that ranked first in the CIFL in 2013 and helped the team to an undefeated record.

During the 2013 Championship season, Clarke totaled 2 interceptions, 12 pass break ups, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, and one touchdown. He was named the CIFL Defensive Player of the Week for Week 9 of the 2013 season. Clarke brings additional professional indoor experience having spent time with the Trenton Steel in 2011 and the Green Bay Blizzard of the IFL.

Clarke played at Upper Iowa University following his transfer from Bowie State following his sophomore season. During his collegiate career Clarke accounted for 107 tackles, six interceptions and 22 pass breakups. Clarke was awarded the strength and conditioning athlete of the year at Bowie State. Clarke was a participant in the 2009 All-American Bowl.

The Erie Explosion (5-2) will travel to face the Detroit Thunder on Sunday March 30th with kickoff scheduled for 4:00pm. For more information on the Erie Explosion visit www.erieexplosion.com.
