Ottawa SkyHawks News Release

For the third time in the same month, Ottawa's SkyHawks go toe to toe with the Brampton A's once more for what was the third consecutive upset win for our SkyHawks. The first bout ended off with Ottawa up by 12 leaving the scoreboard at 114-102. The second time these arch enemies squared off, Ottawa brought the house down on Brampton with a franchise record of 129 points to 108.

Wednesday's frigid temperature made sure the A's had a slow start against Ottawa's very own SkyHawks finishing the first quarter with an eight point deficit at 25-17 for Ottawa.

The SkyHawks were greedy Wednesday night and for all the right reasons. The team was hungry for points and had no room on their plate for losing the lead. The SkyHawks held strong onto their lead since tip off up until the last five minutes of the first half where Brampton tied it up at 35-35. The SkyHawks didn't mess around and were quick to snatch the lead back ending the first half up by 8 points at 54-46.

Justin Tubbs lead the SkyHawks in the first half serving up a hearty 15 points but Tirrell Baines was working his magic in the background dishing out a game leading 8 rebounds and 12 points for the cherry on top.

With the third quarter well under way, the SkyHawks managed to keep their vice grip on the lead making the A's sweat as they trailed by an average of five points and finished the third at 81-76.

After some tense rough housing by the A's, the SkyHawks stirred much excitement in the stands during the final quarter as they grew their lead gap and finished the fourth strong with 111-97.
