Brampton A's Re-Sign Late Season Pick Up

October 1, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Orangeville A's News Release

Injuries took an unfortunate toll on the Brampton A's last year, prompting the team to look for key reserves late in the season. One player that stood out and trumped the challenge of making an impact as soon as he hit the hardwood was Donald Johnson.

The 6'7, 205 lb jumping jack from California State University (Bakersfield), made his presence known immediately as he mastered rebounding, blocking shots and running the floor.

GM/Head Coach David Magley is pleased to have Johnson back, "Donald has a unique ability to get off the floor quickly and frequently for rebounds.  His length provides for nice shot blocking ability and his speed lends itself well to be able to play the 3, 4 or 5 position for us.  He is in the process of bulking up, and by the time season begins is committed to being over 215 lb. With that kind of strength, he can be a real terror this season."

The A's will kick off their season October 21st, with a "Toonie Tuesday" pre-season game at home, where fans will get in for just $2. The regular season starts as the A's host its Peel rival, the Mississauga Power, Saturday November 1st, 7pm at the Powerade Centre.
