Brampton A's Add Athletic Wing

October 2, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Orangeville A's News Release

The Brampton A's announced today the signing of another "key piece" in the building of what they hope will be a championship team for the 2014-15 campaign.  TyShwan Edmonson is a 6'4 guard who played his college ball at St. John's University & Austin Peay State University, both NCAA Division I programs.  He had his best season as a junior at Austin Peay, when he averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

GM/Head Coach David Magley knew of Edmonson from his roots in South Bend, IN, where he and Coach Magley were both born. Coach Magley was reintroduced to him at the team's combine in South Bend.  "Ty simply didn't lose that day.  He finished the first full court game with a drive to the basket and a dunk on everybody in front of him.  We had him return to Canada with us the next day and he spent the next month training with us.  In his first game in the highly competitive MADE pro-am league in Toronto he had 31 points in a very efficient 24 minutes of play, he was clearly a special talent.  We are looking for him to add some athleticism and skill to our wing position this year."

The A's will kick off their season October 21st, with a "Toonie Tuesday" pre-season game at home, where fans will get in for just $2. The regular season starts as the A's host its Peel rival, the Mississauga Power, Saturday November 1st, 7pm at the Powerade Centre.
